Dehybor is a product resulting from the dehydration and fusion of borax. It is a hard, glassy material, granular in texture. It is an excellent flux and glass former. In aqueous solution it can provide slow release of boron. The use of Dehybor can help to increase yields, reduce energy consumption, and control emissions of boric oxide (B2O3) in and enamel glass, ceramic rit production. Chemical Specification ■ B2O3% :68.5-69.4 ■ Equivalent Na2B4O7% :99.0-100.3 ■ Na2O% :30.5-30.9 ■ H2O :≤1.00 ■ SO4ppm :≤150 ■ Fe ppm :≤40 Sieve Specification ■ Mesh Size(mm) %Retained Guarantee ■ 0.600 ≤1.0 Main Applications ■ Glass Dehybor is used as a source of B2O3 in the manufacture of many different types of borosilicate glass, including heat and chemical resistant glasses, illumination glasses, optical lenses, medical and cosmetic containers, hollow microspheres and glass beads. It can reduce furnace emission and increase production. ■ Glazes and Enamels B2O3 allows the formulation of low melting glazes and enamels with the correct thermal expansion. In enamels the borate improves adhesion to the metal by dissolving iron oxide and reducing the melt surface tension.
